Irvine "Magic" Kinneas
FF8 - Irvine tire un panier - YouTube
Long story short, this is what the video translates to.
Disc 2, Trabia Garden : On the Basket yard, Irvine throws the ball. Whether he scores or not depend on your team's number of victories. Less than 200 Wins makes the shoot miss, between 200 and 249 Wins the shoot succeeds, and at 250 and more the ball turns in the hoop before getting in.
The only conclusion I can get from this is that the more the party fights, the better Irvine gets at basketball.
How good do you think Irvine would be if he really applied himself at basketball?
-
He'll become a player so talented that Galbadia Garden will revile him once he signs a contract to join the Balamb Firagas.
-
Hahaha I had no idea. That's awesome xD
-
I wish it were that easy. I'd get into fights all the time if it meant that I could be better at sports.
-
Oh so that's how it works! I always thought it depended on a bunch of crap about what you'd said to different party members throughout the game and had never been able to figure out what influenced it.
-
That is an interesting mechanic. Did they only use that statistic for that one scene? What an odd thing to program.
-
I'm pretty sure the first time I saw that scene, he missed. Really explains why I found it impossible to actually finish that playthrough.
-
I had no idea this was a thing at all. He always missed for me and I assumed it was just part of the whole "Irvine thinks he's amazing but really isn't that cool thing"
-
I've never seen him miss, but by this point in the game I'm usually already strong enough to take on most of the disk 4 bosses.
