Meet Tseng, the youngest Turk ever. According to Aeris, those flashback scenes where Aeris was a little girl and Tseng came to "rescue her" were a little bit off (much like the rest of the smurfing flashback scenes in the game. It's as if they set out to create an entirely wrong product). Tseng wasn't this tall thin asian dude, he was actually a kid being escorted by two Shinra guards in order to persuade Aeris to come back to Shinra.

I'm not sure I believe this theory. He was like, twice the height of her. It's creepy, cos he's got a crush on her, and he's like, 40.
I had often wondered about that myself. Aerith had to be, what twelve at the oldest when Tseng came to get her?

Tseng could have been 18-19. Some authority figures start that young and there are far more perverted "infatuations" out there.

One Cathy Okada translated a good deal of the game prior to the N.A. localization. It succeeds in a lot of areas where the official translation struggles.

Thank god localization went with Tseng. Imagine! Nobody would have looked twice at this game if the guy's name was Zwong! No wait! I'm sorry. Maybe I was Zwong! :smug:
