Don't deny it. They're both bad ass captains and they could kick your ass in a heartbeat. They both have purple hair and a certain tomboyish quality to them.
And they both clean up well. See: Faris at the ball at Tycoon Castle and Leela whenever she is wearing something formal.
The only difference between the two are their total number of eyes.

That is an interesting similarity. I have seen parallels between Futurama and the cast of Final Fantasy X before, but not Futurama and Final Fantasy V.
