My parents own a snowplowing company. They can't get the trucks out to plow. It's the snowpocolypes.

Must be quite cosy indoors then
You guys have my condolences, hope you guys won't lose power.
Only got a light dusting here in Montana. Makes a nice change of pace.
I like in the southern suburbs of Chicago where we get all sorts of different weather from year to year. We'll occasionally get a huge snow storm that stops EVERYTHING for the most part. Just two years ago, we got a nasty one that stranded drivers on Lake Shore Drive (the city really should have closed it down, the whole area knew well ahead of time that the snow storm was coming).
Anyway, this year has been light on snow for my area, and I get irritated at people who constantly wish for even a decent snowfall. I don't get it. The city has TERRIBLE traffic, and some suburban areas have awful road design too, in my opinion. I can't fathom how anyone likes the idea of greatly increasing the chances of an accident and having a 10 minute drive take something around 40 minutes or more.
I won't lie, though. If you already reached your destination and have nowhere to go, or if you don't drive, a snow storm does offer a unique cozy feeling.
CHECKMATE GLOBAL WARMING.
Pft, still went to work.
Got like 3-5 inches I think.
my parents were supposed to fly out of hartford, ct today. they rescheduled.
we only got like 8 inches here, and it's all cleared out now. dry and fluffy, easy to move.
Heh. I figured the meteorological doomsayers would be wrong as usual but people would call in to skip work anyways today, so I scheduled myself for OT figuring I would be needed.
I had to renege. Not even I can walk through 6km of this trout.
I'm watching the Penguins/Devils game right now and during every intermission they pan the camera outside to someone in Jersey begrudgingly shoveling snow. Stay holed up inside with a nice hot beverage and relax.
Did you know that TWC gave this blizzard a name? Yep, it's been named "Nemo". You can thank them later.
we got about 18 inches. usual winter storm imo.
It rained last night here.
