Ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, cheese. In that order.
My order is meat, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa.
Hard shell, lots of beef (a good chilli con carne or something), cheese, lettuce and diced tomato (perhaps the only time I actually prefer tomato on my food without it being a sauce). Oh, and salsa, of course. That'll do me. And the hard shell is important... for me, if it's not cracking apart in your hands and making a mess, it's not a proper taco experience. Just the way I was brought up, I guess.
Fresh corn tortillas (lightly grilled), carne asada, diced onions, some spanish rice, and a heaping of salsa roja. Maybe a dash of lime.

Hard shell tacos can kiss my ass. :colbert:
You ruined it with onions. :(
onions do not ruin tacos
i like tacos with taco stuff on them
How can you have a taco without onions? It's like, one of THE defining characteristics of a taco.
How can you have ANYTHING with onions?
Miriel knows how to eat. I haven't seen a single thing that she says that I've disagreed with yet.
Proper corn tortillas and they must be soft and slightly warmed. A little bit of rice, some chilli con carne/spicy saucey mince! Topped with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and salsa.
Also shame on ANYONE who hasn't put some jalapenos on there. :colbert:
EDIT: AND CHEESE. Preferably Oaxaca, but since they don't make that here, I'll settle for cheddar or something.
However the tacos I get at El Antojito are made. Those are perfect!

Wait isn't there another taco thread floating around that I just replied to?
Anyway. Taco Bell is great. Taco Time as well.
Thanks to this thread, Del Murder and I had some killer homemade tacos yesterday. smurfing delicious!!
My ideal taco filling includes whole pinto beans, guacamole, a little salsa, and sriracha and cilantro. I usually end up eating burritos though because it's easier to find vegan burritos than tacos, and if I'm making food at home it's more likely to be nachos than either of the other two.
