Food Nap
Sometimes when I've over-eaten I just get in so much discomfort that the only thing I can do to ease it is go lie down and have a little nap!
These naps are the best too, because I'm all content from the delicious food I ate and I always feel so much better once it's all shifted a bit after the nap. :jess:
Do you guys ever have food naps?
-
I think I may need one now actually! I don't like over-stuffed food naps as they're usually interrupted by discomfort and heartburn :c
But pretty much any amount of food over a light snack makes me sleepy.
They're ok, I'd rather be awake all the time though!
-
I think they're called food comas. :p
Out of all the times I've eaten at iHOP, I always get the desire to go nap immediately after finishing my food.
-
I usually going into a food coma after Thanksgiving dinner, which helps because I go Black Friday shopping after.
-
This is basically the reason I'm fat.
-
I try to avoid these by keeping my insulin levels stable throughout the date and eating similar portions at regular times, and avoiding binging and eating a lot of sugar.
-
Nope, not even if I'm just plain tired :(
-
After Thanksgiving dinner, I'll usually fall asleep in a big comfy chair while watching sports. I repeatedly wake up during and I'm always groggy. I don't like it. :(
-
Generally I don't nap because I always wake up with a headache. After Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner is a different story, tryptophan coma.

You guys a lightweights and you thoroughly disgust me. Peasants.

I do sometimes if I've had a huge meal, and I'm just tired.
My mum is the worst for this though - she almost always has a lie down after dinner. Even a medium sized one. Bless.

The technical term for this feeling is called "The Itis." The Itis comes along after feasting. It makes you feel bloated and sleepy, and kind of wonderful and terrible at once.
