How about, it's its own little world and doesn't need your silly little box!
Seriously though, it's definitely not steampunk.
It's some mix of science fiction and medieval fantasy. I think Alien Monkeys at a Renaissance Fair is an accurate enough description.
I'd call it's setting Final Fantasy IX.

At first I thought this thread was about the book I wrote. Minus the Renaissance.
You guys are wrong. OP is correct. Renaissance Steampunk with Furries is 100% accurate.
Furry Renaissance with Steampunk IMO
For me it will always be a Final Fantasy with Shrek atmosphere (not the too goofy way) and graphics.
And Saiyans and Super Saiyan 4.
