Eyes on EoFF: Number #30!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all swell as Summer is approaching fast and the sun is starting to shine, at least where I live in England anyway. This week, Quina's Cook-Off entered the cooking phase, while EoFF have been highly honoured to have had a mention from the popular gaming journalism site Kotaku! It's been a highly interesting week, to say the least.

• The main news this week is the fantastic article from Kotaku, all about the website that has given many people another place to call home. I'm not talking about Facebook, I'm talking about EoFF! I gave it a read myself, and it made me both happy and sad as the history of this place was opened for all to see. I certainly never knew there was so much drama involved, but then again I've not been around here for that long! Give it a thorough reading - it's well worth it.
• Quina's Cook-Off has entered the first cooking phase! I've had four complete dishes so far, with many more still to come. Make sure to check out the recipes and try them out for yourself! If you are a contestant yet to have cooked your dish, hurry up!
• There's been a new surge of newbies lately, and as a community we like to make them feel very, very welcome. This year's edition of Eyes on You is up and running, so send in your PMs to Tifa's Boobs and take part!
• Another newbie event - a FF questionnaire run by the fabulous Locky! It's a simple questionnaire, and if you complete it then you might be featured on a frontsite article!
• The General Gaming Discussion sub-forum has been on fire recently, with several good threads for your attention. There's this mysterious game Pike linked to that seems to get everyone hooked (at least based on the responses), so don't go there if you value your free time. Meanwhile Wolf Kanno is debating whether JRPGs are unpopular in the west. Finally, Aulayna has a good natter with the fellow forum-goers about fighting games! There's many more great threads than the ones I've linked here, so dive in in at your leisure.
• An interesting thread here about the urban vs rural environments. Which one suits you best? Do you enjoy the convenience of being near the a shopping mall and other amenities, or does the fresh nature of the rural countryside make you smile?
• There's a new tactics game! Oh wait, it's only for mobiles. That is the general reaction from the thread about it anyway, but what do you think about it? Are you excited?
