The year is 2013. It's a time of great innovation and technological advancement. It's also a time of great conspiracy. Square Enix controls it's fans hopes with more power than the Government.
Today Square Enix and Eidos Montreal unveiled the next instalment in the Deus Ex series titled Deus Ex: The Fall. Set in 2027, the same yeah as Human Revolution, it is a direct continuation of the novel Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect.
If you're a Deus Ex fan then you've properly been cautiously awaiting news of a sequel. Perhaps your augmentations are feeling a bit old and dated or the looming threat of various shadow organisations still bothers you. Well, just like Adam Jensen, probably, you didn't ask for this next piece of information.
This isn't a PC/console sequel.
The game is a story driven Action-RPG and will be coming exclusively to iOS in episodic instalments, the first should be released later this summer for around $6.99/£4.99/5.99€

All complaints aside the graphics look pretty slick for a mobile/tablet game and it looks like all the gameplay hallmarks of Human Revolution will be faithly realised in this portable format.
Possibly not the news some more devout fans of the series were hoping for. One could say this was the Orange to the vending machine's Lemon-Lime! But like Adam Jensen himself... never stop looking!

Once I got over the initial dissapointment, I was overcome by the Gallows Humour. There is just something beautiful about Square as of late.
The return of Tactics, a game the fans have long awaited a Sequal for, is a Mobile game.
The revived Deus Ex, built up our hopes, and we get when we see something about a sequal? Mobile game.
They had set up an announcement for a game to take place in the stars, and hope for Star Ocean are high, and we get a Browser Based card game.
The Behemoth Sillouhette and presumed FF V sprites? We get ATB on Mobile.
I can't wait to hear FF Verses to come to Mobile.

Another case of smurf Android huh? It's only the top selling smartphone O/S and has been estimated as having up to 75% of the market. No benefit to developing for something with such a piddly market share.
