Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII slips to 2014

Square Enix have announced that Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII will not be shipping in 2013. The release date is now confirmed to be February 11th 2014 in the US and February 14th 2014 in Europe. The game is still slated for just the PS3 and XBOX 360.

I don't really mind the delay.

That trailer was pretty neat. Looks like wandering about is similar to XIII-2 as well as the enemies being visible on the field. Seems like Noel is the one who's optimistic and Lightning isn't. They really like re-designing Snow, don't they? Lumina is still mysterious, though it seems Yeul is still somewhere since there's still an oracle drive. Inb4 Lumina = Yeul theories.

Omg, the new Snow! I'm almost giddy! He looks like he belongs in Organization XIII. And finally we're getting lots of new monster skins to fight against instead of just rehashing all the old ones like they did for XIII-2. But all the dialogue is a little cryptic and still not much to follow.

Apparently Hope is still in play too. The other trailer I saw had him narrating in addition to his little snippet on this clip.

At least Snow doesn't have that retarded Chocobo hair now. *eyeroll*

Lightning looks like a Batman Wannabe with those shades on, though.

What ughhhhh. At least with this it wont get int he way of my FFXIVing

Darn, I was hoping for an end of the year release!

I like what I saw here;interested in seeing more until it releases.

Update: The Japanese release for Lightning Returns will be Nov. 21, 2013

I don't mind that we're getting it a few months later. Gives me more time to play through all of the other awesome games this year!

Snow's design looks right out of Kingdom Hearts, and I mean that in a good way. Love that he seems to have a more antagonistic role... the suspense is killing me!

Does the desert remind anyone else of Bikanel from FFX? It's even got a Cactuar statue!

This is almost like an issue of What If? starring the FFXIII characters. Not that I mind because I wasn't too fond of the original versions.

I wonder what caused the delay.

Sweet, the game's released just in time before Valentine's Day; I cannot wait! :D Really liked the new trailer, got me so excited!

Hey, Europe's release is just 4 days before my birthday! Result!
