At the Future of Final Fantasy press conference Square Enix showed off a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn titled "Crystal's Call" complete with English voice overs setting up the story we can expect to unfold in the Seventh Umbral Era!
The trailer takes us to some new locations in Eorzea as well as battles with Ifrit and other group battle content. The voice overs tell us of the Garlean Empire's (one of the primary antagonist groups) failed attempts to take Eorzea, twice! They believe that only they can save Eorzea by conquering and ruling it.
Kan-E-Senna then goes on to talk of a "stifling dark presence" noting that "they are being watched." The trailer then goes on to ask us:
When Darkness Falls
Will You Stand Alone
Or Will You Fight
United As One?
Rise, Brave Heroes
Heed The Crystal's Call!
As the trailer draws to a close we see an illuminated silhouette of Bahamut.
Get your excited on!

Some of the limit breaks look awesome. Is it bad I felt like the crystal was calling to me? :(

The FFXIV team has always been great at trailers. But please tell me that little dinky airship isn't called the smurfing Enterprise!

It seems it totally is and I love it. xD

These are the voyages of the Airship Enterprise. It's Eorzea spanning mission to seek out new places and save the world. To boldly go where no Hyur, Elezen, Roegadyn, Miqo'te or Lalafell has gone before.

Looking great, but that voice acting really sucks... It also seems like the dubbing didn't match the trailer, so the enterprise could be another ship entirely.

Ha, yeah, I agree with those sentiments. The voice-overs were (as is normal for FFXIV trailers, it seems) awful and the dubbing was really bad, so I'm genuinely hoping that the actual voice-overs don't end up as bad in the game or it's going to be a very in-your-face flaw.

Agree, the voice acting left me disappointed, but I think the game itself looks fantastic. I'm completely undecided as to whether to get this for PS3 or PS4. Hmm.

Get it for PS3 if you're not getting it for PS4. Waiting until PS4 is released is waiting too long. ;) If you like it enough, you'll probably be able to buy it at a decent price for the PS4 at some point anyway, MMOs always end up with a low-ish cost for the initial purchase in the long run. If you don't like it on PS3, well, at least you can say you joined in when everyone else at EoFF did and gave it a fair shot :D

Hm, not too impressed by this trailer. Those voice-overs feel really really cliché. Other than that the trailer gave me no idea what the gameplay will be like.
