A closer look at the Lightning Returns cross-over
Square Enix have released a collection of screenshots and two videos showing off the GO THERE collaboration between Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII and FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
I'm sure you already know the story by now. Lightning will be appearing in a new FATE in Eorzea where players assist her in killing a variety of beasts from the worlds of Cocoon and Pulse. In return for their efforts, and depending on their ranking at the end of the FATE, players may receive Lightning or Snow outfits for their characters along with weapons based off the weapons used in the world of FFXIII. In Lightning Returns, Lightning will be able to dress up in the Miqo'te female racial starting gear. Currently available information suggests that this outfit is available simply by doing an optional side quest in-game and doesn't involve any additional purchase, unlike the other promotional costumes we've seen so far. In addition to the Miqo'te outfit, Lightning will also receive a collection of weapons braned by the Grand Companies of Eorzea so that players can show off their allegiance... to themselves... in Lightning Returns. This is still a controversial decision amongst some fans but that hasn't stoped Square Enix stirring the pot some more by releasing these screenshots and a video:
