The fan favorite Final Fantasy rhythm game is returning in Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Curtain Call. Not only are Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Final Fantasy Type-0 songs being added, so are a bunch of new modes to play the game in. Sqaure Enix released a new trailer showing some of these new modes off.
A few recognizable tunes are heard in this trailer such that will be featured in the game like Garuda’s primal fight theme from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Hunter’s Chance from Final Fantasy IX, Waltz for the Moon from Final Fantasy VIII, and more. At 1:08 there is the theme for Final Fantasy Type-0 even!
At 1:22 you can see the new method on how to acquire rhythm points, versus mode, and a little bit of the quest medley. If you want to learn more about Theatrhythm: Curtain Call then check out our earlier recap of news for the new game.

I just ordered a 3DS, so this is one game I'll definitely pick up. Will there still be any point to buying the first one, or just skip straight to this one?

From what I understand from what I've read, this game will have all the songs that are in the first one. I picked up the first one not too long ago and had a heck of a lot of fun with it, though. It might be worth getting still if you can find it for cheap and just want some FF rhythm action now.

I got so nostalgic watching some of that. I would like to play one of these games some day.

Man, the Type-0 theme is absolutely gorgeous. I wish they'd bloody well release it over here. Oh well, only four months to patch day.
