FFVI is the best. FFIX is a close second. I like most of the others as well, but none of them reach the heights of those two.
Final Fantasy VIII, definitely.
I could never pick just one, so I went with six! I, II, VI, VII, VIII and X are my favorites.
I had to give it V. It had the best town themes and Clash on the Big Bridge. Also that "Butz is doing something weird" theme. Although IX, VIII, and VI were in a very close second.
