Cid was pretty hard core and bad ass, but I see no reason he couldn't have just threw down the bombs.
I"m going for Tellah, though the twins follow close behind. Tellah being an actual sacrifice wins him out for me.

You have to go with Yang because it's so ridiculous. Loved the crazy kick he did to launch the party out of the room in the DS/iOS cutscene too, what a psychopath. Somehow being in a room and having it explode saves the day and Yang is fine and dandy anyway. Brilliant.
Palom and Porom. Sure, I was thankful that they sacrificed themselves, but more importantly I was happy that I wouldn't have to deal with those annoying little hellions any more.
