R2-D2 is definitely the greatest droid in the history of science fiction.
It says a lot for this little guy when his acting outstrips most of the human cast.

I always thought it was interesting how before episode IV C-3PO had his memory wiped and so the only character that could explain everything (especially after Obi-Wan died in IV) was R2-D2.
