Star Trek is an overrated preachy show that is everything wrong with sci-fi. All the aliens are humanoids (green women that we can smurf, seriously?), they use worthless pseudo-jargon to make up plot points, the characters are poorly written and no growth ever lasts more than a few episodes (Worf is constantly weaker than all the villains to make them look like threats, this is bad writing and the reason why Yamcha from Dragon Ball becomes a joke), and the effects are terribad.
Say what you will about Star Wars, at least it didn't preach trout constantly, and the action and drama were well choreographed and well acted.
