I remember making a second save file in FFVIII during the Dollet mission. That way, I can play as Seifer whenever I want. Same with the Laguna flashbacks.
I also did the same thing in FFVII during the Nibelheim flashback so I could use Sephiroth.

I hack like a mother smurfer to use the temp characters.
Yes. I used to do this all the time with VII and VIII. I still have those saved files, too.
Nope.
>>> I always have a copy of 2 or 3 save files, but is because I fear the corrupted savedata..:luca:
I do it to relive certain scenes, and I usually have 2 or 3 files going in case I accidentally override one
Sometimes I do. Doing it now with general Leo.
Not for temporary characters, but my old PS1 memory cards have a save file for each and every date scene in FFVII, 'cause I'm a sucker for that kind of thing.
No, I don't. I keep saves close to cool happenings, though.
Seems somehow pointless in its way. Sometimes I keep saves that are just prior to FMVs.
I used to do the same thing to watch certain cut scenes again! I would have SO many save files until I completed the game. The one time that I didn't go crazy with saving was FFVIII. I made it to the final fight and didn't save at the right spot, and I couldn't complete the game.
I had one for FFIX, just before you get to Dali. It's only purpose was for laughs because I'd only go back to it everytime I thought of something immature/hilarious to name Dagger.
And another one for FFX in Luca. I liked to replay the first Blitzball game sometimes, because it's the only time Blitzball is ever challenging.
