Second-favorite Final Fantasy

I had this idea in the Favorite FF thread, so I'm acting on it. Think of your favorite FF. Now, stop thinking about it, and think about your next favorite FF. Vote that one. My bet is this will have a much more interesting distribution than the pure favorite poll.

As for myself, I'm giving love to the timeless classic, the original. Depending on the conversation, sometimes I rank it ahead of VII based on pure nostalgia, but when push comes to shove I have to admit there's nothing better than VII. But I still hold it in high enough regard to give it second place.

Do you mean second favorite not including FFT which isn't on that list, or including FFT because it doesn't matter if it is on the list.

I consciously excluded it, part out of personal vendetta and part because if it's included, you also have to consider TA and TA2, all the Crystal Chronicles, etc. I chose to stick with main series and direct sequels.

IX is my second favourite, tough choice between that and VIII but admittedly by the end of VIII I was quite burned out on the whole thing and IX had me hooked from start to finish.

VII is my favourite for what that's worth, just to complete a most generic reply.

I find it hard to rank anything past my #1 (which is definitely FF X), but I went with FF VII.

I. Compilation of Final Fantasy VII
II. Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII Saga
Main reason: Focus on characters, great atmosphere and world, Lightning, story is epic though full of plotholes. Most interesting cast in all. Even Final Fantasy VII has half of a cast not as interesting for me as Sephiroth, Cloud and Aerith, Zack and Vincent.
III. Final Fantasy IX
IV. Final Fantasy VI
V. Final Fantasy X Saga

Final Fantasy XIII is my second favourite because I have never played it. Most likely it will dropped right to the bottom if I ever tries it though. :bigsmile:

If only it wasn't so stupid storyline wise at times, it would be my fave.

FFIX is my second favorite because I like the story so much and because of Zidane and Vivi, two of my favorite characters of all FF! :)

VII is my favorite. VI is a close second, and the one I voted for here.

IX used to be my #1 for a looong time. Then I actually gave X a shot. The first time I played it I hated it, but that's because I didn't understand the sphere grid for some reason. So IX got the boot down to #2. <3 <3 it though still.
