FFVII NO MATERIA Run!

This sounds... tough, to say the least. But apparently people have done it!

Has anyone here attempted it? :eek:

I've never attempted it, and it doesn't sound that fun. :(
Maybe a natural materia run? I could be down with that. :)

Materia is one of the only good parts of this game, why would I take that away from myself :colbert:

I did a "play the damn game normally" run a few times. I know, I am dangerous.

Ff7 maximum boredom run more like. At least make it an initial materia run.

I've done it. It was extremely easy. I mean, yeah, I level grinded like crazy, but I do that on every game every time anyway.

But materia makes it.... more fun. Enjoyable.

I don't like the idea of running around without my balls. :mymelbert:

I thought about trying it but it's not really hard, it's simply boring and time consuming because you have to overlevel to even out not having any materia.

On the other side Materia Only, No non mandatory inn run would be imo pretty fun, you would have to really plan what to master, where to level etc. because there aren't that many mandatory inns in the game to replenish the mp.

I love my Materia too much. Funny thing about games like this is I enjoy getting my team to be super powered so I can kill everything super easy. A Low powered team does have any enjoyment for me, so I'd never actually do this run xD

I never tried it, and I have no interest to try it.

Considering how often I really use materia, most of my playthroughs can feel like this. Melee and Limit Breaks make this game pretty easy without having to resort to using Command skills and summons.

I don't know if I would bother doing a no materia run as it wouldn't be as hard as you think and like Mirage said, it would likely be pretty boring with the exception of fighting the weapons or using other restrictions like initial equipment.
