after the Ghost Train...?

I've just completed the Ghost Train. Can someone tell me where to go from here? I've tried using the guide here at eyesonff.com, but the walkthrough isn't very specific.

Have you gone south to the Veldt yet? You will need to buy an item called "Dried Meat" and throw it at the kid who shows up after some battles.
