I grew up with white, but a couple of years ago my family starting eating brown. After we moved, we started eating white again, and I recently made the switch back to brown.
Oh my me, I forgot how delicious brown rice is! I like all rice, but brown rice is super chewy and that's what makes it so delicious.
Which do you prefer?
I don't have a preference because I only ever had brown rice. Never tried white rice before.
I usually eat white rice because it's easier to find, but i prefer brown.
It depends on what it's being used for.
I use white rice if I'm doing like chicken/veggie fried rice or my amazing Mexican red rice.. Or if I'm making like Chicken Adobo
I use brown if I'm doing my grilled salmon with mango-lime-cilantro rice. And a couple of other things. I prefer brown rice, but it takes 3x longer to cook than white.
White with soy sauce!
I prefer white rice. Brown rice is OK, but white rice is better.
I couldn't imagine having Chinese food & them using Brown rice, nor having Spanish Rice made w/ Brown rice.
Rice is terrible. None of it.
Brown. Generally accepted as better for you, more filling / gradual energy release, and tastes more interesting anyway!
Downside, it takes longer to cook. But I have slaves for that anyway.
White is easier to cook, so that's what I usually use for myself. Either or is fine, I absolutely love rice. :love:
I used to despise brown rice, but this year I tried it out again a couple of times and actually sort of liked it. I like the flavor it has. I think I like brown rice more, but only if it's the short-grain type. Same goes for white rice. That's how you make it fluffy and sticky! :jess:
I hate brown rice
If it's in tacos, I like Spanish rice with black beans. Any other time, I'd go for brown. It's a healthier option than the starchy, tasteless white rice. Sometimes I sprinkle a bit of sugar on it to give it a sweet taste, and it also tastes better to me with sushi.
