I'm a big fan of the machinas with their Impale skill, which is the unrivaled highest DPS attack with maxed stats, but is also quite nice to have earlier.
Garik has MP Blowout which just outright breaks some battles. I even took away his Attack just so he always reliably uses it. Isn't it fun watching Lulu alternate between trying to cast her T-Spells and using a Turbo Ether on herself while she loses all her MP all the time?
I've gone NG+ before dealing with Shinra and the Farplane Cup, so that will have to wait.
Most people seem to like the Choco Goonberry team, but I never really tried it.
