Portal 2 definitely. The whole game is hilarious and lovely and so is the ending.
I agree with Snake Eater. The lack of TWD saddens me.
rage averted, seeing as they put MGS3 and FFVI on the list.
Portal 2?
Who made this list? Redditors?
I like God of War but it doesn't belong on a top 10 ending list. God of War II maybe for the whole end sequence.
Safe list plays it safe.
That's actually not a bad list, though they didn't get why the God of War ending was so good. Better than a lot of game endings actually. Becoming the new God of War wasn't a reward. Kratos got none of what he wanted in the end. The ending is a tragedy, not a triumph. Exactly the way a good Greek myth should be.
MGS3 and RDR? Sorted.
The more I think about it, while LttP is my favorite Zelda game, it's ending is kind of bland and I think Twilight Princess should be there instead because it was a bit more bittersweet and well executed than other Zelda endings.
I'm not about to argue about what should really be on a top 10, or the order they should be put in, but the games they listed all did have pretty great endings.
If you really want rage you should read their list for top RPGs of all time.
That Shadow of the Colossus ending really bent my brain when I first witnessed that. I panicked and mashed all the buttons.
*raises eyebrows at choices*
...yeah, okay. Never agreed with these things anyway. Still, that list isn't even half as idiotic as IGN's recent attempt to make a Top 100 games of the last gen list. I don't usually get angry over internet articles, but THAT piece of fiction...well.
Anyways. I'd put Ending B of NieR on that list. God, I don't think I've ever felt so BAD before, both as a player and for the characters. It was almost physically painful to watch.
I'd also put Soul Sacrifice Delta on there. Both the "true" ending and the Magusar ending were really well handled, especially given the rather unorthodox method of storytelling the game used. It was quite...satisfying.
