During the special stream of "Monthly Famitsu feat.", a new game was revealed by The Pokémon Company president, Tsunekazu Ishihara. This game is Pokkén Tournament and is in development by Bandai Namco with producers from both Tekken and Soul Calibur series.
It is an arcade game coming out in 2015
In answering questions, it was implied that there may be non-arcade release later since it is said to come first in arcades (so a possible Wii U and/or 3DS release) Pre-Release Screenshots.

Given the fact that they've gone with a name that blends Pokemon and Tekken, does that mean there will be Tekken characters too?
In any case, this seems cool. I hope it makes arcades outside of Japan too.

They will probably let it sit in arcades for a while then make a Wii U version. Anything that will sell Wii U consoles Nintendo would be stupid to overlook.

No Tekken characters. They'd be out of place with the Pokemon fighters.

Seems a little weird to see Pokemon doing Kung-Fu, but I guess this could be cool. They just have to make sure they get creative with the move lists and stuff.

...ew.
I just don't think this really fits, it's just another painful, pointless crossover. There will be Pokemon karting next, and anyone who has played Pokemon Dash will know how awful THAT experiment was. Usually I'll jump on anything Pokemon, but I will be giving this a very firm miss if it ever makes it to a console overseas.
That, plus I have an aversion to fighting games in general; I think the only one I really enjoyed without reservation was Super Smash Bros. Melee. So this just isn't a good fit for me.
