The popular answer is Empire Strikes Back but I always loved the assault on the Death Star and the really happy ending. A New Hope wins for me!
This is actually how I feel as well. Empire Strikes Back is really, really good, but I just love something about A New Hope. It's got a fun spark to it that I love.Quote:

i like the last one. i mean episode V is good but i only really liked the Hoth battle.
also episode IV is good too. but i just chose VI ( my opinion may change over times)
The Empire Strikes Back is a better movie, but I like A New Hope more.

I can't really pick. It's been awhile since I've watched the original trilogy, but I do remember that I re-watched A New Hope a few years ago, so I'll go with that. Can't go wrong with what started it all.

But to avoid derailing the thread, I will say that I have VHS copies of the original trilogy. New Hope is my favorite by far, but I agree that Empire is the best film of the entire series.
Jedi is ok, but Ewoks really shouldn't have been that effective against Storm Troopers. That is a very valid point that I didn't consider as a kid.
