I hope this is a trend for all future Final Fantasy titles. The wait for the UK release dates of Final Fantasy X and XII almost killed me! The XIII games had swifter releases though and it definitely seemed like SE were working towards faster world wide launches. It'a also great that we get translated trailers almost instantly now. A step in the right direction I'd say.
