RIP Terry Pratchett
http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31858156
Terry Pratchett was one of my heroes. I knew he was dying, but hoped for a few more good years.
Yet I'm glad he gets to rest now and it seems like maybe he did it the way he wanted to, at home in bed with his family and cat.
One of the funniest people to have ever died. One of the smartest. One of the truest.
Thanks for all the books, Mr. Pratchett. And say hi to Death for me, and a squeek for the Death of rats.
Sleep well.

Very sad news. I know he had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers a few years ago. I, sadly, never really got into his books. I did have the pleasure (and pain...) of playing the PS1 Adventure Games based on his Universe and characters many years ago, and watched the BBC adaptations of several of his tales.
My personal belief is that when we die, our imagination creates an afterlife for us. If what I believe turns out to be true, then I think Terry is going to be okay. =)
Rest in peace, sir.

I don't have any real thoughts to add.

Thanks for everything you contributed Mr. Pratchett.

Are you smurfing kidding me :(

I have not read nearly enough Pratchett novels, but I have read enough to know that I enjoyed them.
He will be missed. :(

Another great author vanishes. So many stories left untold. But the world he created won't die. It lives on in the imagination.

One of my favourite authors. Very sad news, but I'm grateful for the wonderful stories he's made

Ugh. I've put off reading his books for much too long. I'm starting a Discworld book tonight.

I'm at a loss for words. Terry was an amazing author. :(
