When they ask you at a restaurant if you want a side of soup or salad, which do you pick?
They have never asked me this question at a restaurant. Depends on their soup and salad. I may ask for apple sauce!
If you're buying, I'm going with the cheesecake.
Plus, Soup is a drink
depends entirely on what sort of salad or soup it is.
If it is a creamy soup I usually take that, otherwise I get the salad.
Cheesecake is always the answer.

I love soup, salad, and 1/2 sammie combos from places.
But yeah, I almost always want both soup and salad. Especially if it's the salad from my favorite sushi place nearby 'cuz holy smurfing trout is their salad amazing. The dressing is just heavenly and they use a mix of romaine & iceberg instead of just plain iceberg like most places.
Curried vegetable soup reigns supreme.
