Well I have Cloud and Tifa at the moment. Because you know with Tifa, you always gotta have a Monk on the team. I'm stuck between Barret and Cid at the moment, and maybe a bit of Vincent but his Limit Breaks suck and Death Penalty overkill is too damn much. So who should I go with Barret or Cid?
Really doesn't matter since the Materia and Ultimate Weapons will be doing most of the work. I like Cid better as a character and Highwind is one of the game's better Limit Breaks.
Barret also has a pretty good limit break, he just has bad magic stats.
I used Cloud, Tifa and Nanaki, and the battle was relatively easy. I guess it depends of your levels.
