Now that we have a thread like this about Final Fantasy, post your favorite normal battle themes from RPGs in general!
I was always a fan of Mass Destruction from P3
Speaking of MegaTen, SMT: Strange Journey has a pretty chilling normal battle theme!
I also really enjoyed the Empire battle theme in BoF IV (the whole soundtrack is amazing, by the way)
Now I'm playing through Child of Light and it's pretty dang amazing, thanks in part to the phenomenal soundtrack! Now, there are a couple normal battle themes, but the first one that you get is pretty epic!
I'm also in love with Scherzo di Notte.

Fun Fact: This is the theme that plays when you fight the Demi-Fiend (Nocturne's Main character) as a boss in DDS. Yes, he considers you a normal random encounter.
