All the DBZ filler.... let me explain.
Watching Kai recently, I have come to the realization how utterly terrible the pacing of the story proper of DBZ is. Like, holy trout it's bad.
All that extra filler, both arcs and small additions that weren't there in the Magna, kind of fix that. I mean sure, we have that odd bit of Vegata blowing up a planet like it was nothing before ever reaching earth, and then Recoom blows up a small mountain and Vegeta nearly trouts himself, but the pacing is better.
It's been a while since I watched any anime with filler, but the Utena filler episodes were great. Especially those Nanami-focused. Priceless.
Also, technically, the black rose arc is a filler arc, but it is so good.
I liked the Zanpaktou Rebellion filler arc from Bleach. I liked how the characters had to deal with their own Zanpaktou in order to gain them back at times, and it gave some characters more screen time.
I really like filler. Not just in anime (I admittedly don't watch that much). Because it's just a nice break from heavy plot points, drama and possible upset. Just the characters interacting and bonding. I sometimes think filler is my favourite type of episode, to be honest.
i hate beach episodes
Goku & Piccolo driving test.
It's been a while since I watched anime on the reg, but did Yu Yu Hakusho or the original Dragonball have filler?
According to the db wiki there's quite a bit.
