Yup Kanji and Yukiko, you got it.

I would personally go Kanji and Chie, though Yukiko is a close second.

Definitely Kanji for guys, girls are tougher because I honestly didn't care for any of them as much as I did P3's crew. Probably Naoto was my fave of the girls once she loosens up.

Kanji and Naoto. Kanji - beneath his initial "tough guy" persona - is an absolute sweetheart. Naoto is smart and determined, and somehow manages to pull off blue tartan trousers, which is quite an achievement. I also find them very engaging because they're struggling with issues of sexuality and gender, which I haven't really seen in other Japanese games I've played.
