Hello Everyone and Welcome to Nutty Plays Secret of Evermore for the SNES from SquareEnix. We will start from the beginning. For a more in depth rundown of the start feel free to check what I wrote about it in the General SquareEnix thread labeled Secret of Evermore

Podunk USA 1965 an Experiment is about to take place.

The experiment has gone wrong however and now the people involved are gone. However 30 years latter fate of a young man named Nutty and his Dog Oscar may reopen and explore what may have happend.

When Oscar decides to chase a cat when Nutty leaves the movies they end up in the same home as the experiment 30 years earlier.

Oscar chews on a few cords then Zap.. Nutty and Oscar find themselves in a futuristic space station with some weird guy who doesn't make them feel at home.

The man asks you to follow him and escorts you to a area and locks the door behind him. Before you know it you are stuck fighting for your life against two robots. Its a good thing there is a bazooka ready to be used beside you.

With Victory complete you find a way out in an escape pod and drop to the world below you. Upon landing however the escape pod and the bazooka end up as trash

No Worries though as you find your pal Oscar there safe, and he has changed into a giant Wolf looking creature. He also brings you a giant bone that can be used as a weapon against what you may run into out there.

Welcome back readers. When we last left off we were dropped off in the jungle and our dog turned into a wolf. We also found a bone that we could defend ourselves with. Now lets continue on with the story.

As we explore our main enemy are plants that eat people. Oscar and the bone though are more than a match for them. We also get attacked by little bugs that only have 1HP, but are tough to hit. It is easy to navigate though as we fight the two enemies off with ease

Oscar has more uses as well then just fighting. He uses his nose to find little things around the place, and hidden treasure chests as well. (Very nice touch from SE if you ask me.)

We eventually make our way into a clearing which can only mean good news in a RPG right?

As we explore the strange leaf in the middle we get attacked by Raptors!

Though this fight isn't needed to win, (as I lost it this time darnit) It doesn't matter. Our trusty dog Oscar will intervene and drag us out to safety.

Welcome again to Nutty plays Secret of Evermore. I know I am spamming them in, but I am trying to make posts small for easy reading and more pictures for everyone.

When we left Nutty and Oscar a Raptor kicked our behind and Oscar dragged us away. We wake up in a little hut with a man talking to us telling us we are in the Prehistoric Village and urges us to explore and take things we need from the huts.

As we explore and talk to the locals they tell us to meet the Village Leader. They call her Fire Eyes.

They also talk a lot about Alchemy.

With that I guess it it time to meet Fire Eyes.

We have a small meeting with her in her hut, and when we talk about Podunk USA she attempts to play it cool, however she does know about it, and agree's to help you get back if... you do a small favor for her. The Village Alchemist has left to find ingredients for his potions in the Bug Muck and hasn't returned. She asks that you and your dog go seek him out as the village is starting to worry. She also gives you your first alchemy spell called Flash to help you in the muck just in case of trouble. She also gives us a small explanation on how to use it.

Well join us next time as we leave the village and travel through the desert to the Bug Muck in search of the village alchemist.

We are back again. When we last left we made a deal with Fire Eyes to help find the Village Alchemist Stone Heart. We were given the hint that he left to the East through the desert and into the Bug Muck. So... lets head east.

We walk out into a jungle that turns into sand and run into enemies such as our old friends the people eating plants and a new enemy these turtle looking things that attack. They come in groves and even Mario would be thinking twice about going through them. How ever Nutty and Oscar make their way taking the time to do a little grinding on these beasts as well.

Further east from there is the desert. Sand pools suck you in and shoot you around if you are not to careful here. However its not a big deal as sometimes they just set you back a little ways and you reappear with hilarious results.

One also takes you to a small cave. Inside the cave you find an old man who is attempting to run a business, but his location is terrible. To boost sales he decides to give a free gift of the Jaguar Tooth Ring with any purchase. It allows the user to use the energy they would have used in attacking, and use a sprint instead. It allows you to run out of the suction of those pesky sand pools, so Nutty buys a Pedal (Used for healing) and with it gets the Jaguar Tooth Ring.

After the sale Nutty and Oscar Head South from there and end up in the Bug Muck. Which we will explore next time.

We now are in the Bugmuck. As Nutty and Oscar make their way in the ground changes from sand to swamp, and we battle two new bad guys. Tar Skulls that look like a skull on a spine, and Maggots that look like white worms. Bugs also bug you every place you walk here.

Nutty then finds a cave and Enters it.

Inside the cave there is an Alchemist. after a short conversation we find out he isn't Strong Heart who we are looking for, but he stopped by a couple days ago and was heading to the big bug in the center to look for ingredients. He also teaches us the Hard ball formula as a new alchemy spell for us.

This guy sells alchemy ingredients too so Nutty Stocks up his supply and heads out of the cave and battles his way to the Big Bug.

Welcome back as we are now in The Big Bug. The enemies are the same ones that were in the Bugmuck. Tar Skull's Maggots, and those little bugs with 1HP that you can never hit.

The first part of this place is a bit of a maze. As you clime through the Big Bug pieces of the floor drop out from under you and you must ride an express back to the start. Its not a big deal however as there is a sure way through, and Alchemy ingredients are everywhere for Oscar to help you find. Plus the ride down is comical.

After you get through there you must crawl outside and back in through the Big Bugs Legs. It isn't very tough to find your way in this spot.

Once through You find a giant Bug named Thorax. Brace yourself for this is the first real boss fight of the game. Thorax throws Maggots at you to fight while attacking you with his claws and the Acid Rain Alchemy spell. He has a set of ribs that protect his heart which is his only weakness. at first I attacked him from a distance with the Hardball Alchemy spell and let Oscar deal with the Maggots. Once he opened up his ribs, I ran up to his heart, Charged my Bone to level 3 and attacked. He Dropped quickly after that.

Our reward for beating him was the Spider Claw. An ax type weapon that is a step up from the bone, and has use outside of battle too.

We also have found Strong Heart in a cocoon and the Spider Claw was able to cut him free.

When Finished Stong Heart takes off on his own to the Village and we see a nice exit right behind him. Well with him back Fire Eyes will help us get home right? Thats how most RPG's work I am sure. So lets head back to the Village and do some exploring around the way as the Spider Claw can now open up places we before couldn't access...Next time.

Welcome back. We make our way out, and this new path leads us around the sand pools on the edge near the top. We fight nothing new here, some turtles and bugs. We also find this guy living out here. He is an Alchemist Who teaches us the Acid Rain formula.

Well Now that we have Acid Rain, lets try it out!

We also get to explore South of the Village where the Escape Pod broke down and we landed in this Prehistoric place. Using the Spider Claw to cut through the Tall Weeds we are able to find another new area Which is Strong Hearts Hut. Here he teaches us the Cure Formula. Much more handy that only being able to carry 6 pedals for healing!

With that all done lets go talk to Fire Eyes... Next time!

We now have made it back to the Village and had a long talk with Fire Eyes. She explains this world to us and tells us that the village has a new crisis. Since it is mostly all plot I screenshotted the conversation so I can post it for you guys. and I will leave this entry as just the meeting with Fire Eyes.

She Gives us 6 call beads to call on her at any time in battle that will bring her in to cast a summon type spell on the enemy. Call beads are one of those rare type items in the game where you never use it until you are up the creek and under leveled and need a quick hand. Better left saved for latter. Next time we will explore the Volcano and why this world is cooling off.

So we just left Fire Eyes and left the village to the North's exit what we can get through for the first time with the claw. In here we are back in a jungle setting with a new enemy. They are flowers that attack like the other ones, but they suck you up and slowly drain HP while trapping you. They are kind of mean to be honest.

We continue North until we see a cave with a huge Rock blocking it. Wonder if there is a way around?

To the West is another cave that is open with a man who sells better armor for Nutty. We buy new duds and then head back to the cave with the Rock in front of it, and proceed north again to a Mammoth Graveyard.

In here we get a new type of enemy that can use poison. They are Widowmaker spiders. good thing Strong Heart taught us that cure Alchemy formula!
As we proceed through we run into the Enemy of Fire Eyes and her Village the Vipers. The main commander sends 4 of them against Nutty and Oscar which we fight, then the Commander himself attacks. He wasn't tough as I had Nutty toss Hardball at him, while Oscar Tanked and he went down fairly quickly. After We receive the Horn Spear as our reward for beating him.

After that we meet another Alchemist that says we must continue North still as someone at the top of the Volcano sould be able to help us gain access. I took a screenshot of the conversation so I won't miss any plot points with everyone reading this.

With that we head through the Mammoth head gate and North... Next time.

the battles look cool, remind me of CT.

The battle system is setup like Zelda and Secret of Mana where it's all on the map but you can move and they come at you. It's basically what Secret of Mana should have been but failed.

We are back again with More Secret Of Evermore. When we last left off we walked into the Mammoths mouth north.

What we walk into is back to the jungle setting were we have lots of company in the form of those plants that eat you, Widowmaker Spiders, and added to the list now Raptors. We head north and battle our way to a mini puzzle where you jump on steam geysers, and enter through caves to find your way through.
When you step on the right geyser it takes you to the top of the Volcano.

The Old Alchemy man at the top knows a possible way into the Volcano, but There is a rock blocking that path. Good thing he is around to teach us the Levitate Alchemy Formula. Only problem is is that it takes a mud pepper and he doesn't have any. He does know where to find them though. There is a swamp to the east where they grow. So Nutty and Oscar thank him and start the trek east... next time
