Come on now. Secret of Mana has an amazing classic soundtrack.
Man, where did you dig up some of these games? If SoM loses to a random Digimon game I'll eat my hat.
I'd absolutely have voted "a random Digimon" game over Secret of Mana in the story and gameplay departments, just not the music department. :p
Wow Del so disrespectful toward the digimon legacy
Yeah I should be more respectful of 2016's 36th most discussed game for PS4. Sorry.
Someone here who is talking smack is obviously a Pokemon fan. :shifty:
I not a Pokemon fan. In my eyes though, that only makes it worse that knockoff brand Pokemon is going up against one of the greats.
Oh please. Digimon is as much a Pokémon ripoff as Pokémon is an SMT ripoff.
Are you saying that Pokemon isn't an SMT ripoff? Either way, I don't think it:s equivalent. Digimon uses the same sort of abbreviated title format. It would be like making a game called Duper Dario Sisters and gaslighting about there being any connection to Mario.
Actually, Digimon was a tamagochi rip-off originally.
Anyway, regardless of what's "ripping off" what, Cyber Sleuth is actually a very good RPG that's more akin to SMT and Persona than Pokemon.
(it was also made by Media Vision, the Wild Arms/Chaos Rings people, unlike all the other Digimon games)
Digimon is definitely store-brand Pokemon
I definitely felt that going through the OST. The game has a very Raidou/Devil Summoner vibe to it. I've been meaning to pick it up for awhile now. Learning Media Vision developed means it will be pretty good too.
Personally, I've always like Digimon more than Pokemon. While the games have always been hit or miss, the anime adaptions have been surprisingly awesome as opposed to the Pokemon ones outside of some of the films. Hell the first Digimon movie ended up being remade into Summer Wars (same director, almost the same plot) and the later seasons of the franchise were written by some of the authors who did Evangelion and Serial Experiment Lain. Pokemon was always a series that was marketed towards kids, whereas I felt like Digimon was marketed towards a slightly older audience hitting their tweens.
