Best Napster Clone?
I went to download Audiogalazy today, and forgot that the reason I didn't before was because they force Gator on you. I'm just looking for a free and dependable file transfer program like napster or audiogalaxy, that doesn't try to sneak any extra garbage into the downloads. Any suggestions?

Morpheus or KaZaA Lite. KaZaA itself has tons of spyware, so don't get it.
I'd provide links if I knew them offhand. You can probably find them quite easily with a search engine like Google (http://www.google.com).

Here you go--------------------> Kazza and a program to remove spyware and pop-ups.
Here's the other one-----------------------> Morpheus
Yes, I'm dissapointed at Kazza, since they added all that spyware that can look for media on your computer, but I got rid of that.

KaZaA Lite sounds like a better option than downloading KaZaA and removing spyware manually. I know that KaZaA has a trojan as well, and I'm not sure whether spyware-removing software can get rid of that.
I'm lazy, so if I were going to download a KaZaA client, I'd get KaZaA Lite. *shrug*

Hmm, maybe I will try KaZaA(Kazaa)whatever, Lite, since that pop-up, banner and spyware killer program requires you to have it running in your system tray and I'm not to fond of things eating up RAM. I guess I'll try KaZaA Lite then.

If you're into the whole "Complete Album" thing, you could do worse than Soulseek, 'cuz it has some nice options like "Download Folder" which works well most of the time. It ahh crashes my computer at least once every day, but it's worth it for how much time it saves me in looking for individual files. =P

I think audiogalaxy shut down.

They stopped allowing the downloading of copywrited songs on Audiogalaxy. Yep.
I use Imesh. It works well enough for downloading songs and everything. The only problem is that it crashes on my computer every now and then, but it's probably just a conflict with a program or something on my computer.

Is Imesh better now? I used to be a big Imesh fan. That was untill they introduced the program that constantly spews out banner ads. It isn't supposed to be constantly, but rather everytime Imesh connects. Considering how often Imesh's connection is broken, that's a lot of ads. Maybe I'll give Imesh another try. It's probably the oldest and most respected of the swap programs out there.

ei I don't want to risk my PC is Imesh can result to a crash.
