My thought:

New forum.
Announcement Forum

Used for new members to give their hello threads, old members to announce their leaving. Some members to announce their return/temporary absence. Birthday Announcements, Engagement, Marriage... and odds of that sort.

I'm aware there are quite a lot of forums as is... but some don't seem that necessary to me. Like the FF music/movie.

Hmm, I think we're doing fine as it is. People have sigs, and newbie threads really do belong in General Chat. They're somehow nicer that way =)

You might want to go here to discuss this, it seems to have taken off a bit.
