Something's confusing me...(spoiler alert)

Now, here this. I'm in Ultimecia's Castle. I've reached the area where there's two elevators. Party 1 has stepped on the right elevator, which consequently lowered to the ground. As the stepped off, they right elevator ascended. So I positioned my party 1 onto the left elevator, waiting for Party 2 to step on the right elevator, thus ascending Party 1 up the left elevator.

My Party 2 steps on the right elevator, with Party 1 waiting on the left elevator, yet nothing happens. Nothing descends or ascends.

What is it that I'm doing wrong? It's driving me absolutely bonkers! :frust:

put more males in the lift that you want to go down.
