After you finish a game, the player window comes up again and asks you to select one of the players. What exactly does this do? This doesn't seem to be important, but it's been bugging me. I usually just pick the player with the lowest exp level.

I'm pretty sure that is just to show you the stat increases. Like if Tidus levels up, you can put your cursor over him to see if his statistics have had a boost. Then when you confirm a player that's like saying "I've seen the stats, move on please".
