I knowin the monster Arena, Earth Eaters give them, but I can't come close to damaging him. He has reflect on him and despell doesn't work. My physical attacks are countered with a move that kills me.

Well, that's pretty much the only way, if it isn't it's certainly the most efficient time and money wise
summon the maggus sisters. its really the only way to beat him quickly, and not die. overkill gets u 2
