Dark Aeons and how to mangle them

This the THE way to kill the dark aeons.
*cracks his fingers and begins*
first of all you DONT need to have maxed out stats or even good stats. But you do need Tidus, Wakka, Yuna and Auron. (it helps if you have Ally for Yuna's overdrive mode but if you dont it doesn't matter that much).
You also need Yojimbo and a weapon for Wakka that has first strike.
Here is what to do Have Wakka Tidus and Auron in your team. Wakka will get first attack, but swop him with Yuna (and have her overdrive ready). Use her overdrive and summon Yojimbo. Pay him all your money but 1(so you may want to shop beforehand) and he should use Zanmato.
If not the dark one will kill you.
If by any chance you are still alive after that have auron use guard tidus use Hastaga and Yuna Keep summoning and do your best.

Dark Valefor- the entrance to besaid
Dark Ifrit- home
Dark Ixion- Thunder Plains
Dark Shiva- Macalania temple
Dark Bahamut- The place where you fight Yunaleska
Dark Yojimbo- Cavern of the stolen Fayth
Dark Anima- Just past where you fought seymore on Mt Gagazet
Dark Magnus sisters- Djose road

(Note- These will not become available untill near the end of the game.)
If you kill all of them Penance appears on the airship list and you can fight the games ultra hard boss as well.

Roz - I know you think you're helping but most people frown upon that tactic.

It's like using 'The End' in FF8. It's lame because it's just instant death and doesn't require any skill.
It may be OK if you just want to beat them for some reason but if you want to REALLY beat them then Zanmato is a big NO NO.

If Zanmato is big no no than how do I beat them

It's a case of taking ages to max out your stats I'm afraid. It's the only sure fire way (for the harder ones anyay).

If you hop over to www.gamefaqs.com you'll be ale to find some great guides that tell you how to max your stats efficiently. It involved taking out (with clear spheres, bought from the guy at the monster arena) every non +4 stat and replacing them with +4 stat spheres obtained from killing certain creatures. You can also remove +200hp nodes and put +300 in their place.

It's very time consuming. You'll also need Celestial weapons for all those fighting (you can choose any 3 but Tidus and Wakka are obviously 2 of the best).

If you're fighting dark aeons you'll want to save before you fight them and keep doing so until you get a 4 slot armour for one of your fighting characters that has ribbon and nothing else (or ribbon + break hp). Doing this with the easy dark aeons is a big plus so that you've got ribbon armours for later on.
