if by SNES you mean the fan-ROM, then the translations are rather different. Krile as opposed to Cara. La la.
In the SFC version, you could only run with the use of the Thief's Dash ability. In the PS version, you can use the circle button to innately dash; the Dash ability then just makes you go even faster. And, in the SFC version, the transition to battle is the basic pixelization, while the PS version uses a FFVII-style swirl effect.
Are the spells and Job classes the same?
Of course they are. The PS version is practically a straight port of the SFC version, so there are no real differences in gameplay.
Thats good then, all I got is the SNES rom and I was hoping they'd be the same
except in the PSX version you can enter a secret button combination during the title screen to gain Guido as a playable character.
Wha? Never heard about that one...
Naturally, the PSX version also has snippy FMVs at the beginning and end.
The translation of the ROMs may be slightly less 'clean', too. On the PSX, there's virtually nothing that even the most ardent puritan could call 'swearing'. Some ROMs, I'm told, are less virtuous.
Galuf says "chrissakes" near the beginning, though! :aimsurp:
Thats true, I remember on the NES rom translated for FF3 one of those pirates says "Were in deep s**t"
I was like holy crap no way.
PIRATES DON'T SWEAR!!
FFIII didn't even have pirates. Just Vikings.
There are a few name changes.
Cara to Krille
Lenna to Reina
Edeath to X-Death
Thats all I know.
