7 was the best, but i liked 8 and 9 the most
... FF6, it's not only the best FF, it's one of the best games I've ever played.
ff8 is the best.
If it was my doing id delete the new "upgraded" nes ffs to make ff8 better and shinier.
FF8 IS C00L ALL THE WAY.
Final Fantasy VI or VII, not sure.

The only way anyone can say something other than VI is best is if you haven't played VI. If you haven't played VI, play it. FF VII is the only other FF that comes close. The others are out of the question. Seriously.
VI all the way. IV is the closest runner up for me. The playstation games were mostly just eyecandy and stupid love stories. No plot, no fun.

I think each FF game is good in their own way, but I have to admit that I really love FFVII - it's a classic!
