lol thats funny IMO its the worst summon ever in a FF game when i got it i was like wtf........... but hey im sure it has some type of mythilogical meaning or sumin, like some of the summons

Typhoon looks exactly like Chupon, an opponent from Final Fantasy VI. 'Chupon' might actually be a translation error.

However, I still blame drugs.:D

Its name should be Typhon, from Greek mythology. Look it up.

Hmm. The name 'Typhoon' might've been chosen because of the summon's wind-elemental properties. Typhon, on the other hand, was a hundred-headed, lava-breathing serpent, capable of hurling entire mountains all over the place. Curiously, Typhon had many children, inlcuding Cerberus and the Chimaera - both familiar entities to many FF gamers.

Typhon was also the father of Orthros in Greek mythology. This explains his camaraderie with Orthros (Ultros) in FFVI.

I thought his hame was Typoon. That's the way it always appered in my game. Any hoo, I never used him. ChocoMog was my wind summon.
