The cap is 70 or around there anyways, and it gets raised every now and then. Square said that they might eventually raise it to level 255, but I'm not too sure on that one, could happen though.
its being raised to 75 next patch

It still takes a while. When I bought the game back in the beginning of November it took me around an hour to download the 300 megs or so of updates on my broadband connection, and I have a fast connection(1,000 mbps, 133k per sec).
It's just because a lot of people are downloading at the same time.
Yeah I'll have a 256kb/sec broadband (ADSL) connection. It shouldn't be too bad, at least I don't have to worry about having the line drop out or someone complaining because they can't use the phone. xD
The cap is now at 75. The highese level person I've seen... well I dunno. Many high level players choose to mask their level I guess so lower level guys won't bother them as much.
Looking at their equipment kinda gives it away though. I don't know too many high level people that run around in their gear. :DQuote:

the highest i've seen was a level 74 samurai not too long ago, the first time i notice him was the first day of the patch that he was already level 71.
Saw a level 75 paladin taru taru sexy beast on seraph today. ;) thats the cap
