Help with Triple Triad for those who need it.

Hey only a small problem with the guide but you state that the pub owner in Dollet gives the Carbuncle card this isn't true his GF card is Siren thats it like I say small problem just nice to know what card you're playing for.

Also help on the random rule:

Keep it contained to as few area's as possible inparticular before the CC club in garden don't spread it to Balamb. timber is brilliant for losing it as whenever I have it they accept Open and Same and reject the rest but if both Open and Same are in the area they abolish open and reject the rest. Also in card matches for cards like Laguna's, Squall's, Ward, Kiros, Siren and other cards held in places with the random rule make it easier on yourself by collecting a deck in the number of cards it takes to refine I.E. 2 T-rexaur = 1 dino bone therefore make sure your deck has two T-rexaur or the number is even at all times then before the important game refine all of the cards except the uniques as this will make the deck more powerful as the'res no chance of the lvl1 cards coming up as there are none then you stand a certain chance of having a hand you can win with just pray direct isn't involved in the rules

kool, yea the card game in FF8 has always confused me-not as much as in FF9 but still-the first few rules are ok but things like plus and random are realy anoying.

Plus is easy to use just try to kee pthe open rule in every region then look out for a trap like having a 6 on a side he has two on and 3 on a side he has 3 on then it cant affect you I have won games 10 - 0 because of that rule if used correctly. Random is the only real annoying rule along with direct. As for the card game in 9 don't ask me I was crap at it.:laugh:

I don't really get the whole triple triad thing, it's about card players right? please help me out I jes ain't got a clue.:p

Triple Triad is a card game the player are all over the world but not every NPC plays it check by going up to someone and pressing the Square button on your control pad before even getting to Timber you can have a decent Deck if you play enough and if you make Quezacotl learn Card immediately after acquirring her (don't ask I know it has no gender its a freaking electrical bird but I have always seen Quezacotl as female) and play away try to gain higher level cards as the higher the level the better items you can get from it the final card is Squalls card held by Laguna. Try to avoid rules such as direct, Random & Sudden Death (I once had Sudden Death and Direct in FH I turned Ifrit and Alexander over 3 or 4 times only to lose them in the next round trying to save my other cards with draws grr it made me so mad!) as these are very difficult rules to play with. good people to play - All SeeD cadets or soldiers Xu however is a special player who only plays you after several prior conditions have been met. You can even play Zell at some points after the prison in garden but he carries nothing useful.

the cards are very useful if refined of course player or GF cards give the best items in the highest quantities but it's not worth losing a one off card. Lets say that on my current play through (my 10th now) the cards I refined to gain the Siren card provided me with enough items to upgrade the party's weapons to the level that squall now carries a Twin Lance that's the 3rd best gunblade in the game giving me every finisher but Lionheart quistis has her second whip, Selphie has the morning star, Irvine has the Ulysses, Rinoa carries the Cardinal and Zell has his 3rd gloves. I have to laugh here as I havent even had my first duel with Seifer this is prior to the assasination attempt in Deling city

Wooooh, thanx alot mate, I think I'll give it a try, I'll probably lose, but oh well. Umm I always jes collected the cards, I never battled anyone coz I didn't understand it all, but now I do, so thanx again!:cool:

It's not hard to learn in the beginning, because there are fewer rules to contend with. Read up on the tutorials before you start. And don't worry if you don't understand the rules for 'Same', 'Plus', etc.... I don't- and I usually eliminate those rules anyway (except on the Space Station-ugh!).

Just be forewarned, if you're want to collect every kind of Triple Triad card, it's going to take hours.

Of course it's nice to look over a complete card collection. :D

Just save between trading important cards and reset if you lose the card.

and don't forget about the bloody random rule on my current file I got the siren card from dollet lost the random rule in timber then had elemental as a rule from dollet lost that back in garden then gained sudden death and elemental in FH and lost same now I have a good set of rules but basically the more rules you carry the more likely the random rule is going to be abolished in places then you can play away to your hearts content also at the first save point in esthar save then carrying (preferalby any combination of rules excluding random) the first soldier or person you come across that is a basic player then if the random rule isnt abolished re-load and eventually it will be abolished if you keep trying, this can take around 4 hours though:(
