I know that somebody took away the post counters so that when somebody gets a certain amount of posts they can get a custom title. Now it's just a custom title after 8 months. Well I think the post counters should stay but no matter how many posts you get only eight month membership gets you a custom title. Just a thought.
Post count never meaned custom title since I've been registered here, so I don't know what you're talking about :p
It was a really long time ago from what I heard. The admins had a post counter set up that when you get a certain number of posts you get a title. People spammed the crap everywhere just to get a title so the admins just made it after 8 months you get a title.
Yes it was liek that for a short time. You got to a certain lvl depending on how many posts you had. I thin that's what it was atleast...too long ago.
The post counts are gone for other reasons than that. We don't want people making posts that say 'postcount++' or *adds to postcount* or something lame like that. I think it makes this place better.

Postcounts encourage spamming. Notice however that this doesn't mean removal of postcounts prevents spamming.
Would removal of pureghetto prevent spamming? Sor far I've convinced 3/4 of the staff that it would.

It was 1500 posts to get a custom title. Then Drex and Linus had spam wars. Then it was 1500 posts and 6 months. Drex and Linus still had spam wars. Then it was eight months. Now Drex and Linus are life partners living in a condo in San Francisco. The End.
