Yahoo! vs. Google
Dunno if you've read about it or anything, but Yahoo! recently stopped using Google to power it's search engine, and I just noticed Yahoo! has a new image search and the like, too. This makes me happy, 'cause I always liked Yahoo! search for web-related things but had to use Google for images, and now I can use Yahoo! for both, since there's little difference in the image area. I never liked the way Google threads some of it's results and whatnot. So yay.
Anyway, what do you think of the new Yahoo! search? Seems like a pretty brave thing to do, dropping Google, I must admit. I really hope they do well. It'll be good to have some real competition going in the search world, because then we'll hopefully end up with better quality. :)
*never has to Google again*

They're just as bad as each other.
-
I don't remember when the last time was that I used Yahoo for anything. I always use Google.

Yahoo sucks because there are 331144645 things to do on the site. Google is simple.
-
-
There's a difference between the two?
-
google hands down. (what the hell does hands down mean anyway?)

Let's compare the two.
Yahoo is to Google as the PS2 is to GameCube.
•Yahoo is a search engine, like Google.
•PS2 plays games, like GameCube.
•Yahoo has news.
•Google has news.
•Yahoo has image browser (now).
•Google has image browser.
•Yahoo has an instant messenger.
•Google doesn't.
•Yahoo has chatrooms. (which sucks)
•Google doesn't.
•Yahoo has fantasy sports.
•Google doesn't.
•PS2 plays CDs.
•GameCube doesn't.
•PS2 plays DVDs.
•GameCube doesn't.

I just like Google. 8-)

Yeah but google doesn't cost £80

Google is my homepage. It's got all and exactly what I need. I use the searching and the image searching almost daily, and occasionaly use the news, directory, and language tools.
I can never find anything on the Yahoo page. I prefer google. Smaller, more powerful.
Oh yeah, with the PS2/GC comparison, you could also note: Google more powerful than Yahoo, Gamecube more powerful than PS2.
BTW I'm a GC fan ;)

Well that depends. The ps2 can mush around alot more polys than the gamecube. But the gamecube as good special effects and anti-aliasing.

Google also carries a Usenet archive, and doesn't look like a somethingsomethingsomething on crack.
