Bosses stronger in FFIV-FFVI?

Is it just me, or do all the old school bosses seemed to be more powerful looking.

All the sprite-based bosses have the advantage of being very faithful to Amano's conceptual artwork. The polygonal bosses have difficulty matching such a powerful aestheticism.
