If the masamune was supposed to be the grand whachamahoosits, what were masa and mune supposed to be named. Grand and Whachamahoosits? (I know it's supposed to be somthing else, lion mabey, but...)

yes. and, in Chrono Cross, when Doreen joins them again, their name changes to Mastermune (which is supposed to be Grand Dream).
And, it links to Chrono Trigger, where the Triple Tech (Frog, Marle, Robo) Grand Dream is used. AND when you cast Grand Dream, THREE Masamunes come out. (Masa, Mune, and Doreen)
it all links together.
It's worth clarifying that Doreen's name is supposed to be Dream.
